DOE to give FREE CFL this Sept. 22, 2012 - Claim Requirements

Present your Electric Bill to Claim 2 FREE CFL in your District Claim Centers

Department of Energy (DOE) through the Philippine Energy Efficiency Project (PEEP) will give 3.6 million free Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL) to public households in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.


DOE PEEP CFL Objective and  Distribution Date

Objective: The project aims to save 83 MWh electric energy, deferred 64.8 megawatts power plant capacity, reduction of 44,704 tons of carbon dioxide emission and save 828 million pesos.

Distribution: CFL will be available to 229 Congressional District Representatives (CDR's), 56 Party List Representative's (PLR's) and 17 DSWD Regional Offices.

Date: CFL distribution will begin this coming September 22 until 28 or while supply lasts.


Philips Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL) Specs

Brand: Philips Essential 2U CFL
Rated Power: 14 watts  - Equivalent to 75 watts incandescent bulb
Lamp Life: 10,000 burning hours
Warranty: 2 years

CFL is more expensive than incandescent bulb but it can last up to 8-15 times longer and it uses 1/5 of the electric power thus, it can save electricity cost. Like all fluorescent lamps, CFL contains mercury which is poisonous which may contribute to air and water pollution if not dispose properly.


How to CLAIM FREE DOE Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL)?

1. To claim a FREE CFL, present you electric bill to your district representative.
2. Accomplish the CFL distribution Form.
3. If your compliant, you will receive 2 Philips CFL.
4. Install CFL immediately, if the lamps fails to work within warranty period, return to distributor with the warranty card replacement.
