Foursquare Hack Day Philippines (#4SQHackPH) will be an all-day mobile app hackathon that will give rise to most creative and skillful team to develop the best mobile app using Foursquare API.

What is Foursquare API?

Foursquare is location based social networking website for mobile devices such as smartphones. API is Application Programming Interface intended to be used as interface by software components to communicate with each other. Foursquare API gives you access to all of the data used by the foursquare mobile applications.

Examples of Foursquare Apps are Trillist, Foodspotting and Instagram (once you take a picture, you have the option to tag the image with foursquare location).

Smart DevNet and WeebGeek invites all mobile app developers to team up and join the Foursquare Hack Day Philippines on December 1, 2012 to test your skills and develop mobile app in limited 9 hours.


Foursquare Hackathon Rules and Requirements:

1. Form a two man or three team. Walk in participants are not allowed.
2. Participants have 9 hours to develop a mobile app that conformed to the theme.
3. Mobile apps may be assemble using different programming languages, application frameworks and development tools. Participants are expected to bring necessary tools to build your mobile app entry.
4. No off-site development allowed
5. Participants must demo their apps thru smartphones for 3 minutes and 2 minutes for judges questions.
6. Judging criteria are below and winning team will bring home cash, gadgets and trophy.

Quality of Software Development - 50%
Innovation/Ambition - 20% 
User Interface/User Experience - 20%
Quality of Pitch/App Impact - 10%
