The latest version of Aakash Tablet - Aakash 2 codenamed UbiSlate 7Ci was launched in India last November 11, 2012 with improved specs and running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich compared to first version of Aakash.
Aakash 2 is a full fledged tablet computer dedicated to Indian nation for technology based learning and available for students at subsidised Rs 1,130 or P845 in Philippine peso and Rs 2,263 or P1,700 for Ministry of Human Resource Development. Aakash 2 for commercial sale is priced at Rs 3,500 or P2,600.
Aakash tablet, dubbed as the cheapest tablet computer has been developed by Indian government-private partnership. Technology enabled learning is very important aspect of education and must be adapted in all educational institution.
