Cloudfone Thrill 430x vs MyPhone A888 Price, Benchmark Comparison

Cloudfone Thrill 430x vs MyPhone A888 DUO - The Battle of Dual-Core on qHD  Display

Last December and the beginning of 2013 starts the "Battle of dual-core qHD Android Phones" in the Philippine market. They  include Cloudfone Thrill 430x, MyPhone A888 DUO, StarMobile CRYSTAL, Cherry Mobile FLAME, KATA i1 and upcoming Torque DROIDZ Blast.

All of them are running on dual-core processor on qHD  (quarter HD, 960x540 pixels resolution) display.

Do consumers really need to consider the speed and performance of their gadget through benchmark before buying? I think so and that is only one factor (others to consider are price, battery capacity, aesthetic design and brand quality)

MediaTek MT6577 dual-core processor boosts up to 40% of application and browser performance compared to single-core platforms. As a consumer, I rather choose this affordable MT6577 and hands on with MyPhone A848i DUO - powered by MT6577 is impressive, UI is very responsive, applications are running very fast and browsing on internet is seamless.

If you are considering to buy Cloudfone Thrill 430x or MyPhone A888 DUO, you might consider their benchmarks (AnTuTu and Quadrant) results. The higher the score the better.

AnTuTu and Quadrant are both Android benchmarking tool to test CPU, I/O and 2D/3D hardware performance. One of their difference, AnTuTu considers the resolution of the test unit.

Overall, benchmark results are close to each other with Thrill 430x a little bit ahead (Quadrant results, maybe due to RAM). The limitation of my comparison are different version of AnTuTu are used and I do not guarantee the same settings are used for testing which may/may not affect scores of both Android phones.

Benchmark scores are taken from their respective owner and link. Here are other list of benchmarks like Cherry Mobile FLARE, TITAN, KATA i1, StarMobile ASTRA and MyPhone A848i DUO.

Any tips about the Cherry Mobile Titan? Was actually planning to buy the said device but after reading some common user concerns (Problems, Limitations, and Disadvantages of Cherry Mobile Titan) was inclined to do some deeper sleuthing
