StarMobile FLIRT vs CRYSTAL Price and Specs Comparison

The Battle of QHD Screen Dual-Core Android Phones. StarMobile FLIRT vs CRYSTAL

StarMobile fleet of Android Phones includes ASTRA, BRIGHT, CRYSTAL and the latest ENERGY and FLIRT. It follows the alphabetical order of naming the droids but letter D is still missing.

StarMobile BRIGHT (P4,990) and ENERGY (P5,690) are both powered by 1 GHz single core processor while ASTRA (P6,990), CRYSTAL (P7,990) and FLIRT are all dual-core powered droids.

StarMobile ENERGY is a redesigned ASTRA (both features a mobile TV) to make it affordable for Filipinos, on the other hand FLIRT is also a redesigned CRYSTAL with better specs and upgraded Operating System (OS) and cameras.

How will FLIRT and CRYSTAL compete with other dual-core QHD like Cherry Mobile FLAMEMyPhone A888 DUO, KATA i1, Cloudfone Thrill 430x and Lenovo S720 in the market today?

Lets compare StarMobile FLIRT and CRYSTAL and lets see which of the two suit your needs and lifestyle.

StarMobile FLIRT vs CRYSTAL Price, Features and Specs Comparison

Latest StarMobile FLIRT features a stunning QHD display screen, sports a dual camera with 12 MP rear and 3 MP  front both with BSI technology for enhanced low light performance and 3G triband capable.

Features: Dual SIM, Dual Standby, FM Radio, GPS capable, Camera with BSI Technology. FLIRT features a Dragontrail glass cover for scratch and damage resistance similar to Gorilla glass.

Dragontrail glass - from AGC is six times stronger than conventional soda-lime glass and it is used by Galaxy Nexus Android smartphone.

Thickness: 9.5 mm (FLIRT) against 9.1 mm (CRYSTAL)

CPU: Both are powered by 1 GHz MediaTek MT6577 dual-core processor that boost up to 40% apps and browser performance compared to single core processor.

GPU: Integrated PowerVR SGX531

Camera: Both sports a dual camera. 12 MP rear with BSI and 3MP front with BSI (FLIRT), 8 MP rear with BSI and LED Flash and 2 MP Front (CRYSTAL).

BSI or Backside Illumination Technology increases the light captured of camera thus, enhancing captured photos on low light environment.

Battery: Both are rated at 1700 mAh battery capacity.

Talk Time: ~4 hours (FLIRT), ~7 hours (CRYSTAL)

Availability: FLIRT will be available this week while CRYSTAL is already out in the market.

As you notice, FLIRT is an upgrade of CRYSTAL and the first Android phone of StarMobile running on Jelly Bean (JB) and definitely faster than Ice Cream Sandwich.

Also, having a dual camera with both BSI technology is advantage at low light conditions and high resolution QHD display is a perfect combination for photo enthusiast.

The only drawback I see with FLIRT is the talk time of approximately 4 hours, almost half of CRYSTAL plus the pricing would be a little more expensive than its brother.

The choice is yours.
