Huawei Ascend W1 vs Nokia LUMIA 520/620 Price and Specs Comparison

There are a lot of Android phones currently in the Philippine market and affordable dual-core powered droids made it to entry level segment in the last quarter of 2012, thanks to low cost latest Android technology offered by our local mobile brand. Filipinos can afford those high performance only offered at high price range.

As dual core Android phones became cheaper, affordable dual-core Windows phone are also making a buzz and starting to heat up this summer 2013. Latest from Nokia are LUMIA '20s line up including LUMIA 520 and 620 for entry/mid level segment market.

Huawei join the battle with their latest Ascend W1 - running on windows phone 8 that will outlast, outperform and outshine competitors windows phone in the Philippine market today.

Price: Huawei Ascend W1 is selling at P8,990 while Nokia LUMIA 520 and 620 is priced at P7,990 and P11,600 respectively.

Nokia LUMIA 520 is cheapest among the three with price difference of almost P1,000 to Ascend W1. On the other hand, Huawei Ascend W1 is cheaper compared to LUMIA 620 with at least P2,000 price difference.

First, looking at the specs, battery capacity of Ascend W1 is 25% higher than LUMIA 620 and at par with LUMIA 720 and 920. Truly it outlast Nokia LUMIA's battery and a test is needed to confirm this in real life performance.

Second, both LUMIA 520 and 620 are running on Windows phone 8, powered by Snapdragon 1 GHz dual-core S4 processor with 512 MB RAM.

Will Huawei Ascend W1 clocked at much higher frequency with different processor and the same RAM outperforms both LUMIA 520 and 620?

Lastly, Ascend W1 is more comparable to LUMIA 620 specs at much affordable price. Which of them will have a mass appeal to Filipinos
