PAGASA Tracks LPA - 50% to be Typhoon DANTE in 24 Hours

PAGASA LPA is now Typhoon DANTE moving North Northeast at 15 kph. 2 days forecast track shows that it will be on 1,260 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes on Tuesday.

PAGASA sighted a Low Pressure Area (LPA) 590 km Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes as of 4pm, June 7, 2013 embedded along InterTropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

Low Pressure Area has a 30-50% chance of becoming a Typhoon in 24 hours and will be called DANTE - the 4th typhoon to enter PAR (Philippine Area of Responsibility) for 2013.

"DANTE" will enhance the Southwest wind flow that will bring rains and thunderstorms particularly over western sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
