Cherry Mobile FLARE Android ICS to JB Upgrade - List of Service Centers

Go to your nearest Cherry Mobile Service Center for FLARE upgrade to Android Jelly Bean this coming June 10, 2013.

Cherry Mobile Facebook recently announced the long awaited Jelly Bean OS update of FLARE starting this June 10, 2013 via CM service centers nationwide.

Cherry Mobile FLARE (P3,999) is one of the cheapest dual-core powered Android phone in the Philippines. It is running on Android Ice Cream Sandwich, 512 MB RAM and S4 processor.

It sports a dual camera 5MP/VGA on 4.0" capacitive touchscreen and 3G capable with a 1500 mAh battery juice.

1. Back up all your data (mp3, apps, files)
2. Secured warranty card and official receipt (OR) - with Phone model and IMEI Number
3. Present warranty and OR during your upgrade at the service centers.

Some consumers are asking if there is upgrade FEE and OTA upgrade (Over The Air) of FLARE to save time and energy but as you can see, it is not on the list of  Cherry Mobile OTA compatible Android phones.


Updates: Upgrade was postponed last June 1 and new schedule (June 10, Monday) was announced. The good news, upgrade is FREE of charge and NO NEED for warranty and OR anymore.


Android Ice Cream Sandwich Updated to Jelly Bean - What's New?

 Cherry Mobile OTA Compatible Android phones (SPARK TV, SONIC, CLICK, HYPER, THUNDER, OMEGA, TITAN, TITAN TV, FLAME 2, SKYFIRE 2 and OMEGA HD 2)

Android Jelly Bean - JB is upgrade of Android Ice Cream Sandwich - ICS based on Linux kernel 3.0.31. It aims to improved functionality and performance of User Interface (UI).

The performance improvement involved Project Butter, which uses touch anticipation, triple buffering, extended vsync timing and a fixed frame rate of 60 fps to create a fluid and buttery - smooth UI, faster and more responsive.

Beside smooth user interface, Jelly Bean also features improve voice search, camera app, multichannel audio and stock Android browser is replaced with Google Chrome mobile version.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean was released on July 9, 2012 and the first device to run on Jelly Bean is Nexus 7 tablet.
