Current Globe LTE SIMs are already 5G-enabled. If you have 3G SIM, you can upgrade it to a 5G-ready SIM for free by following the 4-step procedure.
In addition, you can check your Globe SIM if LTE-ready by texting SIM CHECK to 8080. On the other hand, you can check your SMART SIM if 5G-ready by texting SIMCHECK to 5832 for free.
In order to connect to Globe's or SMARTs 5G network, you should have a 5G-ready SIM, 5G capable Smartphone or 5G-enabled device and you are in 5G zone or 5G covered areas.

GLOBE/SMART 5G Covered Areas and Locations for 2021
GLOBE 5G covered areas/locations includes:
Rizal (Angono, Antipolo City, Binangonan, Cainta, Cardona, Pillila, Taytay, Teresa)
From Bonifacio Global City (BGC) and Makati, Globe is rolling out 5G coverage outside Metro Manila starting 2021. We will stay tuned for more covered areas.

SMART 5G Covered areas/locations includes:
3000+ sites nationwide. To name a few, Metro Manila, Baguio, Bulacan, Pampanga, Laguna, Cavite, Quezon, Palawan, Rizal, Albay, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Aklan, Cebu, Iloilo, Davao del Sur, Davao del Norte, Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga del Sur.
