Globe pioneer the 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology in the Philippines since 2009. In September, Globe launches its 4G LTE network covering 45 sites in Makati city.
Makati was chosen because of its highest mobile traffic and transients from any particular time. Globe 4G LTE will expand to Manila and 3 major cities and select regions nationwide. To date, it has 2700 sites and will expand to 4000 sites by the end of 2012.
Globe 4G LTE Devices and Modernization Program
With 4G LTE, Globe Tattoo will feature a lightning fast internet speed reaching 42 Mbps. Globe and Tattoo focused not only with speed but more reliability and quality on it's network modernization.
US$700 Million network modernization provides 50% more use of fiber optics in transmission network which will increase traffic capacity, resiliency and accommodate voice, SMS and data traffic.
All site will be HSPA+ equipped, LTE ready and and IPV6 enabled core IP network to provide seamless internet experience.
By 4th quarter 4G LTE devices will be available and register to be the first one to receive the latest news.
