I have O+8.37 and Alcatel Soliel (not OT Magic) available from Sun group plan (not advertising this, just saying). For entry level category, they're both good phones. I like how you can update O+ apps easily, but on the Soliel, updating apps requires a bit more keystrokes. Though they're not distance runners, O+ lasts a little more than the Soliel on stock battery. External design, a like the Soliel better. Android phones by necessity HAD to design their rectangular phone as distinct as possible from Apple phones due to patent issues. So don't be surprised to see odd shaped rectangles on them. If you're into screen candy, know that Soliel don't support widgets. This is not an issue for me.

Both phone can connect to wifi hotspots so if you're in a pinch, you can have that much needed internet connection.

I would choose O+8.37 and Soliel all over again if I were getting 3-phones for the group plan. Two of O+ and one of Soliel.

I have an O+ 8.37 and it can be clocked at 1.3 ghz if it's rooted and have a 240 ppi density and has a powerful GPU that supports most games without lag

The blue version of the 8.37 LOOKS BAD, i have the black version of 8.37 which looks good. The 8.37 also clocked @ 1.3 Ghz not 1.2, the spec sheet is wrong, it also has a Mali 400mp GPU. But alcatel's camera is wayyy better even they are both 3.2mp coz 8.37's cam is a bit dark but good on well lit areas. They are both awesome phones.

Oh BTW, i haven't tested the alcatel on antutu but 8.37 scores 10k-11k (mostly 10500 or 10900)
