MediaTek MT6572 vs MT6577 Dual-Core Processor Comparison - Which is Better?

Latest MediaTek MT6572 dual-core HSPA+ SoC for Entry level segment Smartphones.

MediaTek launched the next generation MT6572 dual-core SoC (System on Chip) platform targetting entry smartphone segment last May 5, 2013.

It is world's first dual-core HSPA+ SoC with integrated WiFi, Bluetooth, FM and GPS on a cost effective 4 layer PCB design.

It also integrates power efficient dual-core Cortex-A7 CPU sub-system with speed up to 1.2 GHz on 28 nm process technology (same with MT6589 quad-core SoC).

Entry-level smartphones prices continues to fall and cheapest MT6577 dual-core powered Android phones in the Philippines are selling for as low as $99 or P4,000 from local mobile brand and $125 or P4,999 from global mobile brand.

MediaTek continues to drive the democratization of smartphones with MT6577 and latest MT6572 will move the baseline of entry segment to dual-core processing. That's a good news for Filipinos.

MediaTek MT6572 vs MT6577 Dual-Core Processor Comparison

MediaTek MT6572 are now being widely adopted globally and smartphones powered with MT6572 will be available in June 2013. I hope MyPhone, Cherry Mobile, StarMobile and Torque will adopt MT6572 dual core processor as fast as possible.

Looking for past trends of MT6577 and MT6589 processor, MT6572 will be possibly be available in September 2013 or 4th quarter of the year in the Philippines. May to August will be the "Battle of Cheapest Quad-Core Android Phones"

The good thing with MT6572 processor, qHD dual-core powered Android phones will be possibly available from ~P4K-P5K in the coming months. At present qHD display, MT6577 dual-core powered droids ranges from P7K and above which is still expensive for entry level Android consumers.

So, which local mobile brand will release the first MT6572 powered Android phone? Lets wait for that.
