The "Battle of Affordable Quad-Core Android Phones" for summer 2013 is heating up in the Philippines.

Cherry Mobile finally unveils its 2nd Quad-Core powered Android phone lately, the sequel of CM SKYFIRE, named SKYFIRE 2.0. The first one was released last March 2013, the FLAME 2.0 - an improved CM FLAME.

First glance on specs shows that SKYFIRE 2 is an improved FLAME 2, I thought it would be an improved SKYFIRE especially the processor. Original SKYFIRE is running on MediaTek dual core MT6577 processor so, I expect a MediaTek MT6589 Quad-Core processor but sadly it is a competitor Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

Since it is an improved FLAME 2, SKYFIRE 2 screen size, camera and battery are pump up to much better and competitive specs to compete in the market.

Price: Cherry Mobile SKYFIRE 2 is selling at P7,999, FLAME 2 at P6,999 and MyPhone A919i DUO at P9,590. A price difference of P1,591 between CM SKYFIRE 2 and MyPhone A919i DUO.

Features: Both are Dual SIM, Dual Camera, FM radio and GPS capable. MyPhone A919i DUO features a USB OTG support.

Second, what is your pick? A MediaTek Quad-Core processor or a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Quad-Core processor? What's the difference between the two and which is better?

Third, Screen resolution, Myphone A919i DUO is HD (~294 ppi, highest of the three). Although SKYFIRE 2 is qHD, is has a scratch-resistant screen making it also a better choice.
