Cherry Mobile BURST vs Torque Droidz ATOM Price and Specs Comparison

Latest Torque Droidz ATOM runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich, powered by dual-core processor and sports a dual camera at P4,999. This makes it the second cheapest dual core Android phone in the Philippines same with CM THUNDER.

2013 is the year for the "Battle of Affordable Dual-Core Android Phones" from our local mobile brand. Latest dual-core powered droids includes Cherry Mobile BURST (the twin brother of FLARE ) and Torque DROIDZ ATOM.

Both BURST and ATOM  belongs to the cheapest dual core Android phones in the Philippine market competing with Cherry Mobile THUNDER (P4,999), CM SKYFIRE (P5,999) and MyPhone A848i DUO (P5,990).

Cherry Mobile FLARE( P3,999) and BURST are twin brothers. Noticeable difference between the two are:

(1) BURST runs on lower clock speed at 1.0 GHz for the same S4 processor
(2) easier grip and rounded corners and
(3) capacitive buttons for BURST is only 3 compared to FLARE with 4.

Cherry Mobile BURST - the successor of "Dual-Core ng Bayan" CM FLARE with improved physical design for easier grip and handling and with 3 capacitive buttons.


Price: Cherry Mobile BURST is selling at P3,999 while Torque DROIDZ ATOM at P4,999. A price difference of P1,000.

Features: Both Dual SIM, Dual Standby, FM Radio, GPS capable. ATOM uses Droidz Flex Technology for enhanced graphics.

Physical Design: Both with rounded corners and ATOM looks like a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini.

CPU: Qualcomm 1.0 GHz MSM8225 Cortex-A5 S4 dual-core processor (BURST), MediaTek 1 GHz MT6577 Cortex-A9 dual-core processor (ATOM)

GPU: Adreno 203 against PowerVR SGX531 for ATOM

OS: Both runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich - ICS

RAM: Both 512 MB

Screen: Both are 4.0" WVGA Capacitive Multi-Touchscreen

Resolution: Both 800 x 480 pixels

Pixel per Inch: Both ~233 ppi

Internal Memory: Both 4GB expandable to 32 GB via microSD card

Camera: Both sports a dual camera. 5MP rear, autofocus with LED Flash and VGA front camera

Battery: BURST is rated at 1500 mAh while ATOM at 1600 mAh capacity.

Availability: Cherry Mobile BURST is already available in the market. For ATOM, it will be first week of March 2013.

Internal memory is 4G, part of it are used for operating system and pre-installed applications and ~2GB are left to users.

hello :D does this phone work with a different brand of headset like urbanears, skullcandy etc..? and does this phone have NO problems with a headset that has a mic and of different brand? thanks!
